2014 3-Legged Race Day
More than 350 hardy racers defied damp and dismal conditions to bring some laughter and colour to Shaldon and our 2014 Water Carnival Boxing Day 2014 fancy dress three legged race. What a fantastic turnout - well done to all those who took part, which involves visiting all the drinking establishments in the village and enjoying a quick ‘pit-stop’ at each for a swift half pint (soft drinks for youngsters). Lots of people braved the weather to watch and cheer on the racers.
There were some very imaginative costumes produced... check out the photos below!
The bucket collectors raised £179. Thanks to everyone, our judges, the marshals and the volunteers who heard our pleas and came forward to support us in running the day. We couldn’t have done it without you. The pubs once again were generous and well organised and it was a truly enjoyable and successful fundraiser.
First over the line were Lee Turner and Roger Easterbrook, The Snowmen, in a fantastic 12 minutes 50 seconds... well done guys!
